Happy First Day of Spring. It’s officially here, the vernal equinox hits today, March 20th, and the forecast is playing along beautifully with highs climbing into the low-to-mid 80s by the weekend.
Conway is in full bloom and there is plenty going on.

🌟 Ollie’s Comes To Conway
Hold on to your hats, bargain hunters! The new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has officially opened its doors!
Located at 150 East Oak Street, it has taken over a prime spot right next to Planet Fitness.
Just a stone’s throw from the heart of downtown, the store brings its signature “Good Stuff Cheap” energy to the local retail scene.
The grand opening has been a major draw for bargain shoppers, featuring deep discounts on brand-name closeouts, overstock items, and various household essentials ranging from flooring and rugs to toys and books.
The store is operating with full daily hours (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM most days), making it a convenient stop for those already visiting the downtown area or heading to the gym next door.
It’s a great addition to the Oak Street corridor, filling a large retail footprint and adding a high-traffic destination for shoppers looking to stretch a dollar.

This is the week Conway earns its reputation as one of the best places to be in central Arkansas in the spring.
Here’s a few suggestions where to see the new plant growth and spring buds:
🥾 Tucker Creek Trail
The 3-mile stretch from Tyler Street to Hogan Road is lined with trees starting to bloom. Go before the heat settles in.
🏞 Cadron Settlement Park
Trails, history, and Arkansas River views. One of the most undervisited spots in the area. The replica blockhouse and Cherokee Trail of Tears memorial make it worth the trip even before you hit the trails.
🎣 Lake Conway
Lake Conway is the largest man-made Game and Fish Commission lake in the United States. Bass and crappie are actively biting this time of year, so if you’ve been waiting for a good weekend to get a line in the water, this is it!

Hole In The Wall Cafe
If you’re tired of the polished, pre-packaged, plastic-and-steel aesthetic of newer developments, Hole in the Wall Cafe is the antidote you’re looking for.
While other spots in town try to modernize home cooking with fusion twists, Hole in the Wall leans into the classics.
Daily specials range from fork-tender pot roast to crispy catfish and are served with the kind of seasoned sides (skillet fried cornbread!) that taste like they’ve been simmering since sunrise.

This week we want to give a shoutout to the Faulkner County Library staff and volunteers who keep a packed calendar of free, useful events running week in and week out.
Find classes and programs like Chair Yoga, Writing Workshops, Genealogy Resources, Job Search Help, and much more.
It’s a remarkable amount of community value that doesn’t get nearly enough credit.
