Well, weâve officially thawed out from last weekâs winter wonderland!
After watching Conway transform into a snow globe, itâs good to see the roads clear and folks getting back to their routines (though Mother Nature still has us keeping our heavy coats handy just in case!)
In this weekâs edition, weâre diving into the incredible transformation at Lake Conway, where a massive renovation is hitting its halfway point.

đŁ Lake Conway Renovation Reaches Halfway Point
Itâs hard to believe, but Lake Conwayâs ambitious five-year renovation project has officially hit the halfway mark.
If youâve been driving past on I-40, youâve likely seen a vast sea of grass and tree stumps where the water used to be
But, despite appearances, this is all part of the plan to improve the lake.
â Whatâs Been Done So Far:
The Dam: Contractors have removed the 75-year-old infrastructure and are installing a new automated water-control system.
Boat Lanes: Over 28 miles of stump-free, 60-foot-wide boating lanes have been cleared.
Fish Habitat: 600,000 pounds of gravel were helicopter-dropped into key areas to create spawning beds.
Natural Bonus: Soil consolidation and vegetation growth are naturally improving the lake bed.
Mark Your Calendar: The AGFC has rescheduled its public meeting for 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the Mayflower High School cafeteria.
đš Beast Feast 2026 Hits the Conway Expo Center
If you hear a collective roar from the Conway Expo Center this Saturday, itâs just Beast Feast 2026.
Featuring a âSportsman Banquetâ, live music, and world-class storytelling.
The Main Event: Doors open at 2:00 PM for the expo, with dinner starting at 5:00 PM.
Special Guest: This year features Billy Molls, the âModern Day Mountain Man,â who has spent years of his life living in a tent in the Alaskan wilderness.
From the official Beast Feast website: Beast Feast is held each winter and is open to men and boys of all ages. The event features games, entertainment, prizes, live music, food, and speakers.

Classical music lovers, get ready to move. The Conway Symphony Orchestra presents âDancing With Beethovenâ this Saturday at UCAâs Windgate Center.
The Program: Features Offenbachâs âCan-Can,â Coplandâs âHoedown,â and Beethovenâs magnificent Symphony No. 7.
